Bupa Take Steps for Good Health

Bupa Take Steps for Good Health is Melbourne’s very first event of this kind. The day includes a 4km or 8km walk and run around The Tan, welcoming all fitness levels from serious runners and joggers to pushers and walkers. Followed by Summer’s Healthiest Picnic in Kings Domain and a Health and Wellbeing Exhibition on Tom’s Block, it is the perfect day to kick off summer with the whole family.
Diabetes is currently affecting an estimated 1.5 million Australians. In support of Diabetes Australia – Vic’s work as the leading charity and peak consumer body working to reduce the impact of diabetes, Diabetes Australia – Vic is the beneficiary for this event.
6:30am — Registrations open
7:00am — DJ begins on stage
8:00am — Health & Wellbeing Festival opens
8:30am — Warm up hosted by AFL Active commence for 4km runners
8:55am — Warm up by Guy Leech commences for 8km runners and 4km walkers
9:00am — 4km run starts
9:05am — 8km run and 4km walk starts
9:05am — Pilates demonstration by Rocco from FocussFitness
9:45am — Warm down and an introduction to low intensity exercises for the whole family from Step into Life
10:00am — Tai Chi demonstration from Tai Chi Australia
10:30am — The White Tree Band to commence
11:00am — Cooking demonstration by Travis McAuley with Dr Joanna McMillan
11:30am — 80′s Acrobats demonstration
12:00pm — Summer’s Healthiest Picnic begins
12:20pm — Dr Joanna McMillan Healthy Eating Game
12:30pm — Cooking demonstration by Adam D’Sylva with Dr Joanna McMillan
1:00pm — The White Tree Band
1:30pm — Mix 101.1 Prize announcement
1:40pm — The White Tree Band
3:00pm — Event concludes

Diabetes First Aid
You are responsible for bringing medication and any supplies required to manage your own or your guests’ diabetes while at this event. There is a First Aid tent located on site in case of an emergency.
We will be taking photos on the day, if you do not wish for your family to appear in photographs please inform us on arrival.
There is metered parking available around the Tan. However, we recommend using public transport where possible.
The nearest train station is Flinders Street and trams 3, 3a, 8, 16, 64, 67, 71 travel down St Kilda Road to the event site, alight the tram at stop number 19. Visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au for timetables.
There is a bag drop facility located near to the main stage.
